Gothic Hills Cemetery has always been a charitable event. Since the early 2010’s we’ve collected food for local food banks and pet supplies for animal shelters. Part of our mission, now that we are officially a charity ourself is to continue outreach on behalf of other charities in our community. We don’t charge any fees for admission or anything like that, so we encourage our visitors to bring a can of non-perishable food or a pet supply to donate to our charities.
This year, we’re partnering with the Best Friends Animal Society of Los Angeles, who are working diligently to make Los Angeles a “No Kill” shelter city. (“NKLA”)
Items that we suggest bringing to donate to the animal shelter include: Kitty litter, blankets, collars, leashes, towels, canned or dry food, treats, toys, litter pans, crates/cages and food dishes. For a wishlist of the nearest Best Friends shelter, click here.
We are also collecting non-perishable food for Aids Project LA’s Necessities of Life food pantry. Items we recommend to donate for this charity are: Pasta, rice, any canned food, dehydrated food, or food in jars. No fresh foods or meat please. APLA also accepts books for donations.
