Here are some common questions and answers:

How often do I need to work?

As often as you are able/willing. There are no miniums, but there will be prizes for the best attendance and more!

What kind of work will be expected of me?

If you can hold a paintbrush you are skilled enough to help. Scenery painting, foam carving/sculpting, set dressing, construction, special effects and audio setup are all part of the project. We'll teach you anything you need to know.

Who the hell is "Balthazar"?

He was the original Gothic Hills Cemetery keeper, played by Troy. Not a great guy. The character is retired now, but kind of sticks around as sort of a mascot.

What about the heat?

Unfortunately, it's a part of the build season. We do work through it, but provide plenty of shade, and have large industrial fans as well. On the hottest of days we have cooling mist running that really help too.

Do you feed us? What do I get for volunteering?

We do provide meals on most days where we're working more than 6 hours. On days when we don't provide a meal, you're welcome to bring your own or contribute (voluntarily) $10 to the take-out order. We'll let you know ahead of time if you need to bring lunch/dinner/etc. Be sure to let us know if you have any dietary needs.

Our volunteers are vital to our organization and highly appreciated. Aside from feeding you when you work, we have monthly drawings for Amazon gift cards, volunteer t-shirts, tickets to theme parks and more. We also put your name "in the credits" on the haunted house, as well as provide VIP access to the haunt for your family and friends.

Can my children help? What is the minimum age?

Volunteers must be 16 or older to attend by themselves. Anyone ages 12-15 are welcome to lend a hand too, but a guardian be present by their side at all times and are fully responsible for their safety and behavior. Much of the work we do wouldn’t be appropriate for young children, and the build area can be dangerous.

Will there be a party?

Probably.

What is the schedule?

See Above. The schedule is subject to change depending on weather and production needs. Please make sure to stay tuned to the Facebook group (also above) for the latest details.

I would like to help but I don’t live nearby. Can I do something?

Yes! We're open to experienced haunters helping remotely. Contact us to discuss how you can help!

What are the job descriptions for each volunteer role?

Event Coordinators... are staff who manage the "front of house". Tasks include crowd control, line monitoring, staffing the info and donation table, and generally making sure things run smoothly. We generally require 4-6 of these per night.

Tour Guides... are just that. They are the closest thing we have to actors, and they take groups through the haunt and require some basic acting and improvisational skills. We generally need 4-6 of these per night.

Technical Operation... are team members who operate the technical aspects of our haunt, triggering scares and operating a puppet inside the haunt. There are about 3-4 opportunities for this role.
